There is a family on timber heights drive that on several occassions on weekends had outdoor parties in their back yard in which the party gets too loud and keep the party going outside until after 3 a.m.. On a few occassions they have also had live music accordion and guitars in which last night 7/17/2010 not only was the live music enough they even karaoked after the musicians left the premisis.

There is a noise ordinance for Travis county of 10 p.m. and people should be more considerate of the surrounding neighbors who might have to work the next day or have babies that cannot sleep due to the inconsideration of their neighbors. Not everyone wants to be forced to stay up with these people until they decide it's time to shut down the party.

I know we don't want to be rude to our neighbors by having to call the police to control people because you cannot approach them as you can hear in their voices that they have been drinking which if approached may escalate into a more serious matter so the only solution at that point maybe to call the police.

We all pay HOA dues to live in a nice peaceful community but it is unfair that due to a few bad seeds the rest of the communtiy has to suffer

Same On Callingwood Drive

Same goes for the kid who lives with his family on Callingwood Drive who seems to think the music booming out of his car cannot be heard by anyone but him. He doesn't really care what time of day or night he pulls up or when he decides to sit in his car and work towards making himself deaf in his old age. These people are just selfish jerks who think the world starts and ends with them.

I caution everyone, don't piss off your neighbors, they might be the only ones who see your house or car getting broken into or catching fire, or who knows what else, and I am sure you would get annoyed if they did nothing, but as I always say, to get respect you have to give respect.

City Ordinance

From the Austin Police web site:

What is the noise ordinance?

The Noise Ordinance is found in Chapter 9-2 of the City of Austin Codes and Ordinances.

It briefly states that a person may not make an unreasonable noise between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. or create a sound or vibration more than 30 feet from a vehicle.
