This is from the Goodwin Managment...

Hello Neighborhood Watch Committee Members

Earlier today I spoke to Tom Griffith, who is the new owner of 11601 Larch Valley. Unfortunately he had his overnight guest’s car broken into on the street in front of his home last night between midnight and 7am this morning. Tool were stolen and their tires were also slashed. He said he did file a police report. He just wanted to let me know so that I could alert the neighborhood watch committee as well. He also expressed interest in getting to know some of his neighbors and also joining the Neighborhood watch committee. He requested someone contact him with more information of how he can join the committee. Tom can be reached at (***-**** erased for privacy, but I can forward it on if requested). This is his work #. <End of Note>

For those of you who don't know Pioneer Crossing falls under the jurisdiction of Officer Glicke.  He can be contacted regarding anything that happens in our neighborhoods and should be informed if possible.  However, please call 911 for immediate response to a situation requiring assistance.  Officer Glicke's number is 512.974.5510.

Finally,

I believe Elena Sun is the current Neighborhood Watch committee chair.  If possible it might be beneficial to put out a flyer identifying the incidents that have occurred over the past couple weeks.  Additionally, I have not heard of anything new regarding block captains or anything of the sort.  I would expect eventually block captains may be able to organize smaller meetings for their local to get the word out.  Additionally, I have spoken to several neighbors who still did not know about the website or the forums.  I haven't been to any meetings of recent but was curious if there was any initiatives to foster communication in the neighborhood(s).

Hope all is well..Peace

new burglary

There is 3 more burglary incidents happend in the community. We need to do something about it.
HOA is busy doing party.
All the neighbour should keep an eye on each other's houses. I think this is because of the new builder in the community they are cheap. They are selling new houses 0 % down. Which attrects cheap people and finally the value of our property is going down.
WE (Me and few other neighbours) noticed that since last summar there is so many suspicious people driving in the neighbourhood, and new builder is in the community since last year.
Believe it or not but our Property value is reducing.
I just feel like to share this with my fellow neighbours.

This is absolutely true. I

This is absolutely true.

I have been hearing of several break-ins and robberies from my neighbors for the past few weeks.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO DONE!
We'd sell our house and move to a better area, but the property value is just sad right now....

Hopefully as many people as

Hopefully as many people as possible will attend the AGM next week so we can discuss these items as a community and see if there is anything we can do by working together.

Burglary

Hello,

I am in the process of purchasing a home in Pioneer Crossing West. I've heard many stories about home burglaries in this area. I did some research and found that there were a couple of burglaries in the past a couple of months (on Austin Police Dept. website). The most recent one was an attempted burlgary at Timber Heights just last week! I also talked to someone who has lived there for a couple of yrs, and they only heard/knew about only 1 robbery. And they assured me that it was not a bad neighborhood. The only reason is because this is a "nice" neighborhood.
I'm starting to feel nervous about it, and dont know if I should back out. First of all, I dont want to get robbed. Second, I do not want the value of my house to go do.
Can someone please let me know how's the neighborhood? Is it worth it to buy a home in the area?
Thanks all very much for your responses.

There are bad people

There are bad people everywhere, I don't think this community is worse than anywhere else. Take normal precautions, put your car in the garage, don't leave items on display in your car, get an alarm, lock your back gate, get to know your neighbors and look out for each other, etc. If you do all that it will not put too much of a burden on you and I think you will like living in this community. Nowhere in this day and age is crime free, but I believe in most cases burglaries are done by people you are familiar with, just look at the thread, it says some happened during the HOA party, well only the people around you would have known you were at the party, a stranger in the area would have now way of knowing your house was empty. Another option that never fails, get a barking dog with teeth, always makes them think twice.

Burglary

My house on Oltons Bluff Drive was broken into last week and some things were stolen. It appears that a bar was used to pry the front door open.
Please keep an eye out.
