As we approach the summer time, I wanted to take a moment to remind my fellow residents of the many children that we have living in our community. I am concerned about their well being for many reasons, but primarily because I have seen several children ranging from ages 5-17 walking down the middle of the roads at all hours of the day.

This is a regular thing on Musket Valley and several other streets within the community.

I am hoping this thread will help us remember to do the following

- Please slow down and be careful when driving through the community
- Please STOP COMPLETELY at all STOP SIGNS withing the community
- Please be patient of both the community traffic and the pedestrians you encounter

I am also hoping that this forum will act as a reminder to parents in the following manner....

- Please TALK WITH YOUR CHILDREN about the dangers of running or walking IN THE STREET
- Please remind your children to be respectful of their neighbors and their community
- Please ask your children to PICK UP THEIR TRASH
- Please talk to your children about dealing with STRANGERS APPROPRIATELY...
- Please remind your children not to yell and scream (specifically profanity or other insensitive remarks)

I absolutely love having kids in the neighborhood and seeing them out and about SIMPLY being kids....I just want to make sure we all remember they are kids and that we need to be aware of the little ones that reside in our community....

Safety and Respect are both critical to maintaining our communities beauty...

Thank You
Dave

And - we could add to parents

And - we could add to parents - please keep your children off of other people's property, out of other people's cars, and from vandalizing other people's landscaping.

Road Is Not A Playground

Also, please tell your kids the street is not a playground and certainly not a soccer field. If their ball goes into someone else's garden they are technically trespassing and causing criminal damage if it destroys someone else's property.

I don't have a problem with kids being kids, but parents, it is your job to teach them to be respectful of others and to show common sense. If they are walking down the middle of a road they are not showing common sense and have nobody to blame but themselves if they come into contact with a car.

Every house has a back garden, your kids can play there, they will be safe and not bother anyone else.

Seems from the above posting that someone has experienced the bad side of kids, and it is fair that if I don't come over to your house causing damage to your property that you prevent your kids from coming over to my house.

If we just respect others and show the came courtesy we expect others to show us we should be fine and should all be able to live together in the community without any incidents causing bad feelings.
