Mine if one of the houses that never had gutters installed as part of the design, for reasons only known to the builders. I would like to begin the process of getting gutters installed, ideally to match other similar house designs that have done it already. Do I need to get approval before I get quotes and decide who I want to install gutters for me or is that not required?

Unofficially - No Architectural Approval Required

I'm not a board or committee member so my answer is strictly unofficial, but my reading of the deeed restrictions does not deem addition of rain gutters requiring approval. Rain gutters are a pretty standard accessory (similar to adding garage 'carriage' lights) and provided you plan to install industry standard painted gutters, you should be fine.  If you were to be adding an above ground rain collection tank and it was to be located where it was visible to neighbors, then I think you might want to run plans by the Architectural Committee to ensure there are no problems.

If you would like an 'official' response, try using the 'Contact Us' feature (located on the black menu bar near the top of the page) and select Arctiectural Committee for the intended recipient. That sends an E-mail directly to a committee member and they can give you an official ruling. I have used the Contact Us feature for one of my projects and they were very quick to reply and very helpful.

Good Luck with your project!

Quick HOA Service

Dropped of my gutter forms Thursday morning, with pictures, etc. got e-mail approval on Friday morning, you can't get better than that.

I know we knock the HOA at times, but you have to give credit where it is due as well.

Many thanks, I can go ahead with getting my gutters installed now.
