Dues to increase 9.5% in January 2009

In order to increase our capital reserve for the Pioneer Crossing West Homeowners Association, the Board has announced an increase of 9.5% in our annual membership dues. The capital reserve will be used for future improvements in the community. The new quarterly payment will be raised from $72.60 to $79.50, starting with your January 2009 payment.

Dues and doggy problem

With the economy being the way it is right know you should be lowering the dues not increasing them.

I would like for the association to deal with the dogs and their owners as far as getting them to clean up after them. I beleive the association is responsible for enforcing that city wide law. Would you please do something about that.

Thank you.

Yearly Dues

They will not offer annual dues cause then they wouldn't be able to increase the rate for another year. I see all these increases and don't see anything that has improved in the community. O the little solar light on the mail boxes, but they don't work half of the time.

TRASH

Right on Musket Valley I saw a neighbor who lives on Timber Heights throwing trash out of their car...
Is there something I can do about that?

Can I report them??
I have their license plate number & address

HOA dues

That's a great suggestion for paying the fees once a year with the offer of a discount for doing so.

On another note, what is the procedure for setting our HOA dues? Who has the authority to make this decision, and does the community at-large have any say? This seems to be the second or third increase in a year-- are there any new services being added to justify these increases?

Also, I am interested in keeping up-to-date on the board meetings-- could the minutes be posted on the website, including all the minutes since the last neighborhood-wide meeting? Also, there is an invitation on the website to come sit in on the meetings at Pioneer Farms, but I don't see any information on dates and times.

It is difficult to accept these decisions when the communication is so limited.

Membership Dues Increase

On this note, would dues increase as much if those who have not paid their dues...had paid?

why do the dues seem to increase so often?

I am just curious why the dues keep increasing? Our dues used to be $240 a year, to almost $320 a year. That is a pretty dramatic increase. I am just curious to know where the money has been going. Unfortunately I have not had the time to go to any of the more recent meetings, but will plan to do so in the near future.

Annual Membership Dues

Hi,

Your suggestion seems like a good idea. We'll have to check whether our bylaws allow it. This is certainly something we'll discuss at our next board meeting.

Annual Membership Dues

How about creating an option where you can pay for the whole year in January, possibly with a small financial saving for doing so, say $15 or so. This would put finance up front in the coffers, reduce paperwork reminding people through the year, and give the association the chance to earn some interest from the money. I would certainly be interested in that, would others?
